Hi,
Today I was on your server and playing with Organized Chaos and a few other BEER people. We had a great time and talked about a few things. I thought I'd post here, we'd love to scrimmage or play sometime. You're welcome to check us out at "arkgaming.org"
As we discussed before, we are a relatively new clan and our members are spread out across the world, making it difficult for us to gather enough people at the same time for larger matches, but we definitely have enough for Squad Rush and maybe some 8v8. Also, we don't mind playing with some of your guys if you wanna fill out the game.
As per our discussion earlier with Chaos, you guys sound about as serious as we are and I hope this invitation/challenge is taken as a friendly gesture.

Were always up for a scrimmage if we got the members on. Our best times are the weekends early. That way our Europe guys can join in on the action. Cause if its to late then it be very late for them to play or finish a war. Also we probably want 12vs12. Since weekends we usually tap out at 12 members at peak time. Besides we been recruiting a lot lately so we always have enough on.

^^ Well, we have the numbers to field a full team, but many of our members are.... 'dis-engaged' at the moment, but certainly something as fun and juicy as a Clan-Match should tweak their interest and bring them running back for just such an occasion. A week or two lead time before an event will give us time to get the word out, people to respond, etc. Curious - what game modes / winning methods do you prefer? I'm personally fond of Rush, 3 maps, 2 rounds each (att/def each side once on each map). Scoring can work a few ways: - 1 point for each 'win' either as attacker or defender, which gives you potential scores of 6-0 for one team (if the other lasts that long) or a 3-3 tie. In the case of a tie (very rare), then each M-Com station destroyed as attackers is worth a point, with the most destroyed in total across all 3 maps being the winner. - As above, with only attackers getting a point for each win, resulting in scores ranges of 0-0 to 3-0. Ties can be determined as above. - As above, but with only points awarded for destroyed M-Coms (1 for each) - the side with the most destroyed as attackers wins. 1 additional point for each 'win' as attackers; but it's the total destroyed that counts. Perhaps you guys have something else you prefer? We do have a core of people who like Conquest, so we could certainly do that instead, or even mix some Rush and Conquest together. Oh, and we're talking HC here, correct? (although regular 'softcore' is fine too). Anyway, I have a tendency to ramble on, as my members can tell you, so I'll stop now before I get ahead of myself. Nice to met you guys. - riafomh (Martin) Clan Leader - The Ark www.arkgaming.org

Yeah with nice weather now. A lot of players probably become inactive fairly soon. Even with the new map pack out in June that wont pull many players back since them maps are small and 8vs8 maps only.

I'm all for it, I think we can get the numbers together, we could do 8v8 and if we play as many matches as you mentioned then rotate some guys if necessary to give them play time. But we should aim for before close quarters.

I"ll talk to my people and get back to you ASAP.
Have you considered the questions that Riafomh asked in his post, mainly the points and mode, hardcore or soft.
When's the best day/time for you guys? GMT time if possible.

^^ What he means by GMT, also known as UTC, is the standard 'zero' hour on international time zone maps. We use this as a reference because people are all over the world.
I'm in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and my timezone is UTC -8 (meaning I'm 8 hours behind England). ChinaDarwin (who is actually in China) is UTC +8. Note that friggin' Daylight Savings Time messes with this further, as different areas use (or don't use) DST differently. Arizona, for instance, and all of China, don't[/b] observe DST at all.
Y'all probably know this already, but thought I'd clarify.
So if we set up a match on a Sunday at UTC 2100 hours (9 PM), then that match is at 1 pm my time, and 5 am Monday morning ChinaDarwin's time.
Clear as mud?

How about this weekend some time? I posted something in our forums - waiting to see the response and the numbers. Might be a little quick for us, but we'll see. I'll give you updates Thursday.

Have to see. Since lately BEER has been inactive with recent nice weather and among other things going on. Never had our weekly meeting or clan practice cause of inactivity to fill out the roster. So it might be a while yet hard to say unless some of the inactives get their act together and then maybe we can have this war. Other wise have to be delayed til further notice.

^^ Understood. We've got 4 so far - will update as it comes. As was mentioned: I'm all for it, I think we can get the numbers together, we could do 8v8 and if we play as many matches as you mentioned then rotate some guys if necessary to give them play time. But we should aim for before close quarters. I agree that doing it before the CQ stuff comes out (when everybody will be wanting to do that) is a good idea - but if we're delayed due to numbers, then at least when the CQ content comes out, more people from both camps will likely come out of the woodwork to check it out, and we'll be more likely able to corral full teams. No worries. I'm sure we can pull this together, if not this weekend then fairly soon. More lead time gives us both some opportunity to train / practice, etc. Any thoughts on what maps we'd use? We should each pick one, and the 3rd can be determined by.... consensus or... one team gets choosing rights for the 3rd map because they are winning / losing or whatever, or won the last part of the 2nd map, or whatever we decide.

So you guys are set for Saturday then?
Sunday a no-go?
(Should I push ours for Saturday then, or is Sunday still an option?...)
